Calcutta braid is good, Ande makes good mono, I personally use alot of Berkeley line. Red cast is the only Shakespeare line that I would personally spool up with

50 lb PowerPro, 8 and 12 lb green Trilene XL and 12 lb Seguar Carbon Pro flourocarbon. Which rod it is on depends on the application.

I'm not going to go off on a rant like I want to but I feel that spiderwire stealth is crap. I bought a spool, and threw it on a dam ONCE, and the stuff frayed like crazy. Also it tangled like no other line I've used. I hope it was a bad spool, because for the price I payed I hope thats not the norm. I've had better luck with the walmart 2$ line. Sorry that was a rant, I hate to be that negative, I just had a terrible experience.

I resisted braid for a long time, and have only used Stealth and Fireline. From what I've used, the Stealth kills the Fireline, I'm gonna try more brands soon.

i knew there was a reason i liked you.. have had NO issues with calcutta braid-lovin the 20 pound stuff. then you said ande aman after my own heart..

i tend to palm my reels while having the line run over the tip of my finger .. this is the ONLY reason i don't use fireline as it will slice your hand apart on a hook set..

I used a friends rod on it with 20lb and it was the best line ever. Andes mono, is great, plus if your going after records, it is certifeied, and I do the same thing with my reels, and have not cut myself alot.

Just bough 150 yds of the calcutta mono in 6# test, because I needed it today, and I love it, I use it on ultralight spinning gear.
