how they react

I was fishing the other day with frogs and was realizing that on the hits when the line started running sometimes they would run out to the middle of the canal and others would turn and run into the vegitation. The ones that ran into the thick stuff gave me some trouble. Anyhow I was wondering if the way that react after striking the lure could help you to develop a pattern or help me to figure out what type of mood they are in?

I could be wrong on this, but if they're running towards cover, it could be thats what they're relating too, if they're heading towards deep water, thats what they're relating too. Next time you notice where they're running, concentrate on that area, could be underwater structure down there that you're not aware of, or it could just be they were relating to the area they ran back to?

to me a pattern is developed by were they actually strike the bait..in the grass at the grass line 3 feet off the grass ect.. rod man is riht if the haul deep there is some kind of struture there they are looking to get off the line by any means..i really don't pay atteion to were they run to after the strike. besides if i hook up i know were they are headed- straight to the boat..
