There are a few texans around these here parts, not too many, but a few. I myself and my best friend txbassinlady are from Houston, and we fish a few of the local lakes and reservoirs. Our favorites are Fayette County Reservoir and Huntsville State Park. The tourny clubs seem to favor Fayette County Reservoir, and there's usually alot of boats out there on the weekends, but the lake has better than average fishin on the week days. Huntsville State Park is a Idle Speed only lake, with a Catch and Release Only policy regarding bass, so it can produce a few nice fish for those who have the patience to putt around and find them.

Amistad is one that i'm going to be fishing with my brother later this summer. fished there as a youngster, fished Colorado City Lake and Possium Kingdom but that's about it. when I was younger mostly fished my dad's pond on his land in Red Oak and the little lake we have here in Hobbs.

I fish Amistad the most and it is a dream lake. Choke canyon is the closest and it holds a lot of lunkers. But for some reason Choke and I haven't got a long for a while

Used to live in L.A.. We fished Toledo Bend, lots of stumps, standing trees and some grass. It's an easy place to get lost (unless they marked the boat lanes). I've caught some good size bass on this lake and have had some days when the fish just weren't there.
You might need a GPS to find your way around.
At that time, I didn't have a GPS and got lost several times. Back then the lanes weren't marked.

If you want quality Bass fishing head to choke canyon. But if you are wanting to fish the ''cats'' go to Lake Casablanca in Laredo, they have an abudance amouth of catfish, not to much Bass though.

I lived in central Texas for about 9 years and I fished belton lake and stillhallow lake alot with great sucess. There is alot of cover durring the rainy season. When stillhallow lake rises alot of the land around goes under. Makes for real good fishing.
