Engine hard to start
I have a 1996 Johnson and for some reason now it is hard to start when the boat has sitting for a couple of hours. Everymorning I took it out this weekend it took almost 10 to 15 minutes to start. What could the problem be?

My buddy had the same problem with his motor. When it was cold it would take 10-20 minutes before it would take hold and actually stay cranked. We tried giving it tune ups and changing the fuel pump with no luck. He finally changed out the battery and now he has no problem at all. The battery he had must have had enough charge to turn it over, but not enough juice to give it that kick that it needed. Try using a newer battery and see how it does then.
