Anybody else got any good excuses to give in to the Monkey?

I'd love to find a couple I could use.

BFD that's funny. Went yesterday to Sportman's Warehouse. Monkey got me for $89. Was going to get a Shamano MG 50 but beat him back.

The monkey had a glorius weekend at the Richmond Fishing Expo this weekend. Place was crowded on Sat (it's been a few years since that has happened) and the monkey was workin overtime!!!!
Ran into Clyde, BassAddict, and Flippin4it at the show. All stopped by the booth to say hello. Spent the weekend chattin' it up with Bill Chapman, FLW/Stren, who was helping out and learned some good stuff. Got a pic of him and Davey Hite in the booth. Tried to get Davey to buy the pink 6'6" spinning rod that my custom guy was trying to sell. Wouldn't go for it for some reason???? It was actually a sweet rod. Blank weighed 3.5 oz and had Hologram TiNi guides. I was willing to give away a bag of Cotton Candy tubes to whoever purchased the rod .

Swim baits and Carrot Sticks were the big products this year.

3d, How many of those cotton candy tubes, you got ? I ain't scared.

At a show here a few years ago, a booth had a sign that read "If you think my prices are too high, bring your wife and we will dicker".As I made it back around to the booth again, the sign was removed. P N J

5" cotton candy - I've got 3 or 4 bags and a couple loose ones.

Sounds kinda like the old bar sign.

3dkicker i second that there were a lot of swimbaits baught and carrot sticks. I was at the davie hite show talking about crank baits and there was a guy there with two carrot stick looked like people were spinding alot.I did notice the butt ends on the carrot sticks for the price i dont know they looked to be made out a cheap foam but they do look good but for that price i dont know. It was fun thought and had a lot of diffrent baits also found a booth that had the infamous basstrix baits got a number to a guy who sells them and the prices were good.

Yeah, they had plenty of the Basstrix but not the paddle tail every one is chasing. Call them up and see how long their waiting list is. Then PM me and I'll put you on something very close, less expensive, and you can get today (and not the ones that that were sold out of my booth). Thanks for stopping by the booth and introducing yourself. It's nice to put a face with the name. Did you get a look at the Poor Boys the R&R guys were selling? They sold a bunch of them.
Carrot Sticks were selling at about $110. I got to compare one to the custom rods I had for sale. Couldn't really do it due to the length, power, and action differences.

Not necessary, got a pic of one right here. 2oz of lead makes this thing a heavy bait.

3dkicker, it was good to meet you and purchase some of your products. Love the tubes, pretty bada$$. I wish you had them in bulk.
I too purchased a Carrot Stix, 6'9 med for light crankin. Picked it up for $105.00. Sucker is light. Would bought the pink rod for the wife, but I could'nt picture myself walking out of there with it in my hand. I love her, but!!!!

My wife would probably like a "pink" rod too. Here's a picture of my daughter with her first bass with her Dale Earnhardt Jr. fishing rod.
