Default '09 BPS Catalog

I got the new catalog friday while at the Bass shop in Auburn. Its nice to see the carrot sticks and Kistler magnesium rods listed but not much else different except for the Rapala clackin rap and new crank bait lip with the rattle system in it.What do you all think about it ? Ivan

Haven't seen it as yet. But must might give one or two a try and find out myself how they work in the real world

Looking forward to receiving my new BPS catalog. I've got a small needs list, and I'm also looking at a new Daiwa Viento Baitcaster for pitching wt'd creature baits.

I got mine on Saturday at the Rossford store, and i saw that they redid the BPS baitcasters for next year including all new braking systems in the Rick Clunn, Extreme, Tourney Special, etc. They also redid the looks and i personally do not like the looks of them. While at BPS the monkey managed to get $200+ out of me on new baits though.

I do like the BPS power handles after buying 1 to see how they compare to the old Gator grip power handles. In my opinion, they are pretty nice. I went back up to buy more and they were out of them.

Bama, your not likely to find grits, chitlins, crackle, boiled peanuts, hush puppies, sweetened tea , Ne Hi soda, red clay, chiggers, Zebs catfish house,Popeyes, Winn Dixie or a Piggly Wiggly anywhere near this Auburn area. Ivan

Yay, I love it when a new catalog comes out, although I've been doing most of my browsing online lately.

My BPS '09 catalog was hand delivered by the bait monkey when I got home from work tonight. While I do spend considerable time online at BPS, the catalog allows me to further refine my searches.

#1 on my list is a Daiwa Tierra Baitcaster. The specs sure seems to be the make over of the old TDA Advantage 153 HST of which I own several.

heres a question for ya..

the 2008 bps master fishing rag has the quatum tour edition model# 1160 and 1170 priced at $240..the 09 master rag features the tour edition which has a new model # 100hpt and 100spt priced at $280...
other than the new red highlights and new handle design.. my question is will the dam paint stay on this reel??

i am very impressed with the team diawa reels enough so that i likely will buy another.. but quatum has to go ALOT before i buy another new one..

Zooker, I learned the hard way from some of the master NYC reservoir fishermen, that you just can't beat Daiwa reels. Every one I have, have continuously preformed flawlesslym and I expect for them to continue to do so. Just a cleaning, oiling, and lube job will do the trick as in years past. They're just a great value for the money at any price point level.

Daiwa's are my favorite reel, but my problem is, when I get a new reel, I think, what if I like another brand better than a Daiwa. So.... I used my christmas money and found a good deal on Ebay. Now I have a new Revo in the mail, I'll let you guys know when it gets here.

Me too, I'd love one, and I'd love it even more if our store carried them. They don't carry Falcon in-store either.

Joel, I have 2 of the tierras baitcasters and love them and will get some more.

My BPS wish book came today and with some some gift cards -- well you all have heard the bait monkey scream. As Zooker would say" aw dam".

I saw that St. Croix has new line of rods. The "mojo" line. Looks like it ranges from 80-120 bucks, and they look really nice. Anyone tried them yet?

The new johnny morris Gold series reel looks pretty sweet as well but quite the hefty price tag at $269.

BPS always jumps the gun on getting their book out first. There will be a handful of new cool items that will come out real soon , and wont be in their book. Revo reels are my favorite , I have not had one problem with them , and not more than a few backlashes even. Great reels , I love em... I seen the Mojo rods too , they do look good.

I can't figure out why BPS did not include the Daiwa Crazy Cranker reel. Perhaps they want to push people to buy more of their own brand?

I got mine last night. I was really disapointed on some things i saw. Tackle Warhouse yet again carries more variety.
