its good to get the basics down and have that kind of confidence, now the next step in a few years will be to hit big lakes instead of ponds and resouviors, its a whole new learning curve.

I fish basically only spinnerbaits. In the last year i have bought jigs, worms, tubes etc etc. One lake im fishing this year is a worm lake. I have no idea where to begin on fishing worms, jigs, tubes. Don't know what size hooks or jigheads for tubes to use. ANy help will be appreciated.

I'd say get a 1/4 ounce or 1/8th ounce bullet sinker, with a 2 or 3/0 gammy offset hook, and texas rig a worm or lizard or craw type bait, that target objects you see in the water like docks, trees, rocks, ledges.

There are so many different online sources for info on worm fishing it is mind boggling! Here a few to start you off. Read read read, thats my biggest tip other than just plain fishing with them.

fuzzy, if you know someone who uses soft plastics effectivly try to get them to go with you and show you the ropes, thats how i learned from my uncle, much easier then reading, not that reading is a bad thing, but having someone there showing you what to do and how to do it makes it loads easier, and less frustrating.

IL, I don't know anyone who uses soft plastics around where I live. I live by lake Winnebago (walleye lake). I have been reading and watching alot of tv on it so I'll prolly just goin out and frustrate the crap outta myself! haha

WIU, thanks for the links. I'll start reading them ASAP

JB, thanks for pointing me in the right direction on what size hooks and what to look for. Couple more days like today and I'll be out in no time.

Yeah and that's truly a huge learning curve rotflmao. Let's be honest. Just about anyone can catch fish in a small pond/lake. That's why they have tourney's on big bodies of water, so much more involved in finding them bass, and catching them.
