Just purchased one tonite, but have a busy week ahead. Hope to learn something soon about this rig. If I can get to Harris a will give it a whirl, like yourself, I could use some feedback on this 3 wire rig,
Thanks in advance, Cliff

I have used the 3 wire ultralight versions not the larger 6 and 8 wire modles yet but I have been looking into getting one to try.

I don't see why you couldn't shore fish them. I'd think it almost appear as a small school of bait fish swimming for shallow(er) water. Or cast it parallel to the shore...I'm interested in throwing one as well.

I'm assuming your state is a 3 hook state as well; I was watching a video by tacticalbassin on his blog last night (he's from CA as well and a 3 hook state). He somehow rigs the bigger ones with only 3 hooks and manages to keep his his other 2 or 3 "decoy" fish on the rigs. It was a pretty interesting set up for this rig.

I'll look for the link to it, but I'm still waiting for Admin to approve my avatar and another link I've posted so it may take some time to show up.

I can't find the mini Yum rigs anywhere. I've found the double up rig but can't find the little compact 3 arm bait for the life of me. I've caught a few on the double up rig though.

One has to be care full when adding,Tn a 3 hook state also counts attractors be they without hooks or blades as another bait,so extra arms cannot contain anything.Only way to add a teaser is if it comes out of the pkg that way, some jig heads do have a single blade attached to them, that is legal here as out of the pkg.

I bought one from BPS a few weeks ago and so far no luck with it. I guess it might not matter but mine always flips around while retrieving it. Instead of them all three being sideways mine always seem to go vertical. I think it spooks the fish because I can throw a regular same colored fluke in the same spot and catch a fish.

That rig spooks ME! An approach I first saw a couple years ago is to put a fluke on a 2-3' leader, tied to a swivel. Then run the mainline through the other ring of the swivel, so it slides up and down the line. Finally, rig another fluke on the end of the mainline. Use a fairly active jerk-pause retrieve, which will cause the two baits to rise and fall erratically.

It casts a whole lot easier, doesn't splash like a bowling ball when it hits the water and still has a good amount of attraction because of the erratic movement.

I've heard that you should use a heavier jig head on the one in the middle, it acts as a keel and keeps the whole thing swimming right.
