New Top water by Strike King....

Had an opportunity to throw the new KVD Sexy Dawg by Strike King. The lures come in 2 sizes...I tossed the 4.5 inch model. Great colors where the factory is sticking to basci color schemes and not trendy "I'm a pro" colors. I have to tell you all that the lures worked perfect. Nice action and easy to throw. This lure, with the help of my casting, caught over twenty before I turned in. My mission was to see how this lure functioned and leave the rest of the gear behind.

I fished the local body of water here in Northern California, Lake McClure. I would say that 18 of the fish were Spots and the remaining two were largemouth. Sport to three pounds......lake is full of them......Largemouth 2-2.5 lbs. Also, had a Trout crush the bait early in the morning.

The lures come in 2 sizes, 4.5 and 3.75 inches. Total of colors are 12. I threw the Clear Sexy Shad, color #500.

Retail price on these lures are in the $7.00-$8.00 range. I must say, works just as good, if not better, than a Spook. Colors on the KVD series are much better.

Just my thoughts about a great new lure. Good luck....take a kid fishing!

They are a great bait for sure. My local Dick's had them on clearance for $2.97, so I bought about a dozen of them, and they are a great bait with awesome action! I was using the JR. size, and you can still chuck them a mile.

Do you guys put split rings on walking baits?

Glad to read your report. Knowing Strike King, I was sure they had come up with another winning lure. I thought about trying one out and just might after this report. But I still love my Rattlin Spooks. Not sure I need another spook style bait. But for the price, why not?

I play around with rings and loop knots, seems that some baits work better with one or the other, just kinda have to play around with them.

Spooks are just a confidence bait for me. If it ain't broke, dont fix it.

Thanks for the report though. Maybe I'll snatch one if I ever see them on clearance.

Yep. And on the hook holders if there is not one. Spooks do not have them on the hooks so I add them. The reason is the fish has better leverage to throw the hook when there is no split ring.
