Default Recipe for Grinnell

So I have been watching the Swamp People and one I noted is the use of grinnell in there meals.

Uhm grinnell are also called bowfin, mudfish, cypress trout and a bunch of four letter words at times.

So they boil it up and flake it into cakes to deep fry and eat.

I looked on the interweb for a recipe and they all start with soak for two days in salt water..

Now would you eat anything that requires soaking two days in salt water??

Yeah, I've tried it. Not to bad with bowfin, better with bass!

That's what I thought I saw as well? May have been a different episode.

Seems like a lot of work (and salt) to even bother for me.

That was the two bearded brothers who ate gar.. The father and son with the missing tootheses had a large bowl of them. The boiled them and flaked into some flour egg and Tony Chackers. A few hidden ingredients too. Maybe onion or hot peppers.

Those two brothers are a hoot..

Yeah, it was the 2 brothers I was thinking of. Those 2 are a trip!
I do remember Junior cooking up some kind of fish patties now that you mention it, I think it was when they got rained out of hunting. I love that show!

The two brothers are awesome!..You know all they do is hang out, smog out that shed, and go fish/hunt and dick around all day.

Do the hunters ever change shirts?..Seems like they have the same shirt on every episode, lol

Now that you mention it, they do all mostly wear the same clothes everyday.
