Default Slow year of fishing

Last year in 05' it was a very slow year for me.. i dont kno if it was just a bad season or just me. i need some good tackle tips for the new year of 06'. i mostly fish in a murkey green lake, very shallow 20ft max. and kinda weedy. i usually throw texas rig or spinner..any new sugestions for new tackle?

Buy one bag of Zoom Ultra Vibe Speedworms in Watermelon/Red color. Clip off the tails a half inch up and Texpose on a 2/0 offset shaft worm hook....no weight. It falls slowly. Cast, let hit bottom and rest for 25 seconds, lift slowly to feel for fish.......if no fish on twitch the rod one time at the top of the two foot lift and let re-fall....rest for 15 seconds...lift, if no fish this time, reel in....and re-cast to another likely spot near cover/structure. This seems like a slow process, but it works.

Are the weeds emergent or submergent. If submergent, It's time to start ticking the tops with lipless vibrating cranks after running over the top with a buzzbait. I won't throw a spinner bait in water that has less than 4ft. visibility except in very particular situations. Shallow running cranks are also great over the weeds speacially when it get's hung a little on a stalk. I get half my bites when that happens by ripping it off the stalk. Jerkbaits are another great weed bait. I use floaters when the grass is high. Suspenders early in the season untill the weeds are just 2' below the surface.

try weightless lizards in a junebug or a watermelon/red flake over the weeds.
