Default My first boat

Its not new but I got it for a great price. My father in law got it from a friend that passed away and he decided to give it to me for my birthday. I is a sears game fisher with a trailer. I am in the process of turning it into a duck blind and a bass fishing boat. I want some suggestions from you guys to make this boat great for me and my son. http://http://i39.photobucket.com/al...5418/016-1.jpg

Those seats look like they will hurt to sit on.. Also notice the flood line inside the boat.. Check all your fastners up front for rust corrosion...

I had already stripped the boat by that picture, and since then have put the first coat of paint on the boat. The guy that had this boat before just left it outside and was not taken of real well. All I cared about was that it floats and has a trailer. By the end of the weekend I will have the paint done and the seats installed. What do you guys think I can do to make it a better bass boat?

Lot's of stuff. However I also noted the trailer looks rusty, and the cross supports coming from the axle to the main frame looks really weak. Make sure you check the bearings on the trailer and repack them with grease. I can tell you for certain, that if the trailer breaks, there aint no fishing. Add a rod mount along the side(needs to be small though, little room). There are a couple of sites, which I don't know from memory, that specialize in smaller boat mods. Good fishing.

10-20 hp tiller, trolling motor, bilge of some sort, small plywood front deck if you want to get fancy, seats.

Well I finally got my fishing/ duck hunting boat done. I still have a few more things to pick up to get ready for bass fishing but where I am at right now is waterfowl season. In all I have about $125 materials and I did all of the work myself including the colapsing blind. http://http://i39.photobucket.com/al...ra5418/027.jpg

I would say you will need a front trolling motor for bass fishing, and you might want to look at one the might screw/clip to the side near the front and it can be portable so you can take if off during duck season. You might want to look at a fish finder of some kind, maybe a portable system.
