i got my first bass on a spinnerbait yeasterday. he was only 12'' ,though, and he hit on my 2 cast. i was using a white 1/4 ounce booyah tandem blade.i missed like 5 also. it was pouring down rain and thundering alot.caught over submerged weeds from the bank. hopefully i can catch more and bigger bass on that spinnerbait.

Try to use a trailer for it,you'll generate more hits this way.And it will give a better action.
Like above I added a plastic grub and doubled my hits.

I agree with Robzilla. I catch bass on spinnerbaits alone but my hit ratio goes up drastically when using a trailer. Here is an observation I've made. I only use white spinnerbaits. While many guys use white plastic trailers on white spinnerbaits, I have had much better luck when I use a 3-4 inch twister trailer in Bright yellow or chartreuese. Not sure why that is but for some reason having a contrasting color for a trailer makes a huge difference. When I use white trailers on white spinnerbaits, my number of hits is considerably lower.

Another reason for using a trailer, I should add, is that it allows you to work the spinner slower than without. It will ride shallower at a slower speed giving the bass more time to zero in on it. Good luck.

I love useing spinnerbaits, I think that has always been my goto lure, but I have never used a trailer before, and it appears that it works pretty well.
