Ive read that most the time people catch oscar only while trying to catch bass...and they catch the oscar by mistake... So what would an angler do to go after oscar themselves...tactics...lures...etc? There are some monster oscar around here...I bet they'd be fun to catch. Cory |

The only Oscars I have ever heard of were in the tank in my living room. Didn't know they had them in Florida, I thought they were south american cichlids. Different type of Oscar?

Paul Newman got one, but he wasn’t bass fishing when he got his. All he done wuz get drunk and put the make on some gal on HUD. Lot of them ole boys and girls out there in Holly Wood get them Oscars, and they don‘t even know how to fish. I saw Festus and Doc fishing on Gun smoke, but they didn't catch an Oscar either. But I don't think they were fishing for bass. I just don't know

Its been too long since I've seen Hud. Great movie. I'm sorry, what were we talking about? Oh yea, Oscars. Don't know how to catch them, but south florida is loaded with invasive species like tilapia, oscars and the like.

go to rapala.com and find it. not too hard to find. color... natural for clear water, bright for murky. fish it? twitch, stop, reel, twitch, twitch, stop reel. make something up using little twitches stops and stuff lke that. size? bigger baits for bigger fish

Hula saw one in the canal at Long Lake last year. Haven't seen him since. And South Florida is loaded like said with tons of invasive species.
