				 | Miami Fla Peacock Bass

For the past four years I have been saying that I will hop a plane and fly down to Miami International Airport some weekend for a quick getaway. But the guides are expensive to fish the canals and a plane ticket ain't cheap either. Plus hotel stay on top it could run 1k for two days of fishing. So what about spending a week on the canal in a rental room with a boat tied up at the dock. With many miles of canals I could spend an entire week fishing them. Or I drive down with a boat in tow and a rental on the canal. Is this just impossible? Do I have to spend 1k just to catch a Peacock Bass. Capt Mike

Most canals I've seen don't have a dock. Most ramps are fairly crummy, and hard to launch a boat from. South florida canals are an ideal jonboat+ small outboard/trolling motor operation. Let me get an article for you...

i'd rather do the amazon fishing. ok top of the line guides and accomadation your looking at $2500 -this includes air fare- better add an extra $500. ya never know.. plus side huge 20+ pound peacocks on top water.bonus fish include the gaint amazon cat fishes.. bad side pick an outfitter that uses regular bass boats.. not the hollowed out tree boat.. zooker
