New tip replacement
I replaced the tip on my broken rod today. It was a 7ft MH. About 2 and a half inches broke off. How much difference in action or any other related information on how this might affect the rod. It is a Kistler and I thought about sending it in but don't know if it would get replaced or fixed by Kistler.

Bob, as expensive as those rods are I'd send it back in. Not sure what they will do-they might just replace it for free or a nominal fee.

Yep, but only because it is a very high performance rod. It will still probably be pretty good, i have used many rods that have had a couple inches, even as much as 6 inches clipped off, and it makes a noticable difference; but depending on the specific rod, technique and even your casting form sometimes you can deal with it fine and sometimes you can't. But Kistlers, St. Croix, Loomis, all of those tend to have decent warranties and customer service so see if you can get it replaced. If you are gonna spend good money on having one of the best rods, it doesn't make sense to just slap a tip on the break and pretend it never happened.
