| BassFishin.Com Super Veteran | Choosing Hooks

Hey all. I'd like to know how you guys choose hooks(sizes) for soft plastics. And for treble hooks? If you can't really explain this, could you please fill out this table? (fill out as 3/0 or whatever size) Tiki Stick - Super Fluke - Tubes - Trick Worm - Powerworm - 6" lizard - How do you decide wether you rig texas style or texpose? I texpose. |

 A Tiki Stick is like a Senko, isn't it? For the 4" Senko and 5" I use a 3/0 and 4/0 extra-wide gap, respectively. Super Fluke is 4/0 extra-wide-gap. My tubes are of the thin-walled variety. For 3.5" and 4" I use 3/0 and 4/0 extra-wide-gap, respectively.

I choose what type/size of hook to use, depending on cover, length of bait, presentation, thickness of bait. For example, I would use a 4/0 lightwire hook with a senko in sparse cover, clear water, but if I were flipping/pitching a senko to timber, I would use a superline hook(extra thick wire).

Cool. Thanks all. What kinds of tubes do you like and what sizes? How do you choose sinker sizes? The lightest you can get away with? Heavy for penetration of thick cover? Thanks |
