				 | Damn Drunk!!!!!!

About 12:30 AM my GF and I were watching the end of a movie and I here a kind of crashing noise outside. I go to see what the hell it was, and apparently some drunk drove up on the curb and took out the mailboxes of my neighbor in the left, mine, and the neighbor on the right . Mine was just knocked over and I think is salvagable-need to look at it in the daylight-but the other 2 are totaled. Did the drunk stop? Of course not. Hope he tore up the front end of his vehicle .

Well, I stand corrected . Upon further inspection the angle iron which was driven into the ground to hold the mailbox in place was broken 3/4 of the way through and when I moved it to check it it snapped off, which means I have to buy a brand new mailbox . Appreciate the offer, Adam-I'll git-r-done later. AFTER I get back from the lake .

Sorry about your troubles Reb.We aren't that fortunate to keep mailboxes up through a couple of years at a time due to snowplow trucks accidently taking them out. Most people build a swinging arm system for their mailboxes.I am too lazy I pay for a post office box downtown. C-Bird

Anyways, If I were you, I'd build myself a mailbox that would total a car if someone hit it. Maybe some hardened steel cemented 4 feet into the ground for the post. I'd love to see the car that hits that! BB

Solved the problem cheap. Went to home Depot and bought a 3' long angle iron. Drilled holes in the top 18", bolted it to the cedar post then drove the bottom 18" into the ground. Reassembeled it and problem solved for about $10.
