				 | Fairly large spotted bass on 4-29

Well last night we were fishing the "One fish Wonder" tuesday night tournament on Lake Allatoona. Weigh in was at 9PM and we didn't have anything worthy of going to the weigh-in with so we decided to stay out and fish some more. Well at 9:30PM (30 minutes after weigh-in), I thumped this pig. I believe it is the largest spotted bass I've ever caught, but since we couldn't get my buddy's digital scales to work we'll never know for sure. I'm guessing she's better than 5 pounds. I should've turned her around so you could get a look at her belly (she was about to bust!). Enjoy!

wtg bob! we had a 4.5 weighed in at ky lake in a tourney a few years back, thats the biggest spot i've seen. If ya can't get the scales to work, you can take a piece of line and mark the girth and another piece to mark the length and use the weight calc. this site has. Comes in handy! NICE FISH! |

I caught her on a white pearl Super fluke with a nail weight. I've got a favorite dock that I found last fall. It has a couple of those submerged green lights and attracts fish like crazy. It's sits over a sloping bottom from 11' to 15' with huge Hybrid stripers running shad in the upper levels. What I do is skip the fluke between the boat lift and the dock floats and let it sink below the lgihts. Most often it doesn't make it that far. I also pitch a watermelon red flake or purple flake zoom finesse worm on a Giggy head up in there and let it go to the bottom and just shake it in place. there are Hybrid stripers cruising around up shallow hamering the shad that are attracted to the lights. The big spots usually gang up below them and wait for the dying shad to flutter down to them!

That is a beautiful spot, they really are great looking fish when they get bigger. We need more pics of giant spots.

very nice bob. I say a replica of that fish should be made for the wall. I caught a 13 inch rock bass saturday. It's now getting stuffed. I can't help it that does'nt happen that often. I guess because nobody seams to believe my story. So now i have a trophy to support my story. But i have awhile at least 3 to 4 mons. before it comes back.

Nice spot bob. If the scales are not working remember LengthXlengthXgirth divided by 1200 with be with in one ounce. Good Catch. Fish2win
