you can poke some holes in the lid and put moth balls in them. then put them in compartments in your boat and they will keep mice and bugs out.

I never thought about using old pill bottles for that. I definitely will now. That will free up some compartments in my plano boxes. They will also prevent the spills that happen when the box gets knocked over. Those plano boxes are not completely enclosed compartments. |

I take one of the larger pill bottles, stuff it half full of cotton and put my lure scent in it. I keep it right next to me all the time, need to add more scent, pop off the lid, drop the lure in it for a moment, pop the lid back on, and cast away... works better for me than those big bottles and trying to spray or squirt scent on a lure swinging in the wind.

Use them to store: 1.Wooden matches. 2.Swivels. 3.Palls for those of who use Abus. 4.Split rings 5.Tooth picks for pegging weights. I have all of the above stored in pill bottles in my boat to name a few. I almost never throw a pill bottle away. I use them to store things for upland bird hunting and fly fishing too that I didn't mention. |

Close. It's the little thingy inside the line guide's housing. It engages the worm so that the guide travels to and for as the worm turns. It's wise to obtain and carry spare pawls, especially if you aren't too religious re cleaning and maintenance, since if the pawl wears down or is otherwise damaged the reel locks up and/or you have no level-wind function. Always make SURE the little cap that holds the pawl in it's place is tight. Also carry spare caps in the event the cap cracks...all too common with plastic caps, usually from over-tightening, or the cap works loose and is lost. I replaced all the plastic pawl caps on my Shimano Curados with metal ones. L6 Last edited by Lancer6; 07-01-08 at 07:28 AM. | |

I use the large bottles,, for like 100 big pills for this.. I fill it about half way up with cottonballs then add my scent... if I put to much liquid in it, I just add a few more cotton balls to it. If you have a woman in the house, you have a never ending supply of cotton balls.

You could use pill bottles for alot of things, much in which others have already posted above. However, you can you them for jugging, or for troutlines...:S I know it sounds weird, but they can be used as any sort of floatation or storage. -stevo
