What is the best way to rig a senko should i texas rig or hook through the middle and alsoi hear that your suppose to cast it out and just lift it off bottom just a little and twitch it some is this the correct way bc if u cast it out i thought texas rig would be best

Both ways work, just use them in different situations. If you've got more grass/cover, you probably would want to use the texas rig rather than the wacky rig. Let it fall and just twitch, deadstick on the bottom, just quick jerks and pauses...try them all till you get the fish to tell you what they want.

There is no wrong way to rig or work it. Experimenting is my favorite teacher.

I would agree with the above. I love wacky rigging senkos (hooked through the middle) but this can be a pain around cover. If your dealing with cover texas rig, if you have rocks or sparse vegetation then wacky rig.

One thing I like to do is cast it out and let it settle for a minute or so. Then I reel the line in slowly untill it's tight. Then while holding the rod in my one hand, I take hold of the line with my free hand and give the line little short tugs and then pause a few seconds. Reel the line in tight and repeat again.

Give the Caesar what belongs to the Caesar, the merit of the rig belongs to Wayne P ( from another forum ) hence the name "Wayne´s wacky rig", I´m just passing it along.

Wayne´s method can be modified for another rig ( Neko rig ) instead of hooking the eye towards the head you hook eye towards the tail, then insert a weight in the head and it´s a deadly way to present the Neko rig in weedless manner.

That works too, looks great!! It would have a different action too! What I do around cover is just use a weedless hook, gamikasu makes a good one, but if you don't wanna pay 2-4 bucks for a pack, go with eagle claw hooks!

The only thing in direct contact with the fish´s mouth is the hook, if you are going to spend in hooks purchase simply the best and sharpest ( Owner ).

That's right, you don't have to tell me.

I use owner's mosquito drop shot hooks. Gammy drop shot hooks are good, but they are my second choice when compared to owner mosquitos. I also used owner downshots when I need to T-rig my ds lures. I cannot wait to give wayne rigging a try.

Hey, if you don't wanna pay for yama senkos, get a pack of gander Mt. 10" worms and pull or cut the tails off, makes a great senko worm!

Try it out with any big worm, works good!

I use them more often like soft plastic jerkbaits. I wont pause and let it fall until I get to a particularly likely spot.

The senko is an incredibly versatile bait.
