Rough Weekend

Well as the title states I had a rough weekend. On Friday I woke up with some pain in my gut that had me doubled over. After a long day of being a great big sissy, I finally was talked into going to the ER for a CT to determine whether or not my appendix was about to rupture. Sure enough when the CT results came in my appendix was inflamed and had to be taken out immediatley. Now normally this wouldn't have been too bad but I was planning on going fishing this past weekend. Scub those plans now I get to lay knocked out for an hour while some surgeon gets to play operation in my gut. Well I get out of the hospital and get home. Well somebody left the front door open and 2 yellow finches decided to come upstairs into my room to give me a nice bombing while I was asleep. That didn't wake me up. What woke me up was when my 20 pound feline monster jumped onto my stomach right on one of my incisions, while she was after the other finch. Now I say other finch because well she already killed the other one and tore off it's head right by my bed. So all in all I had a pretty rough weekend, and figured I'd share a bit of it since I've got nothing else to do till they get these damned stiches out of me.

Mans that rough TN,You definitely deserves some ice cream=)..How long does something like that put you out of the game?

Dang Tristan, you did have crappy weekend (pun intended). In all seriousness, glad you did the smart thing and got to a hospital. My uncle almost died because he was too stubborn to go to the Dr. when his appendix became inflamed. Glad you are doing ok, at least they probably have you on the good drugs.

hahaha, sorry ol buddy but this is FUNNY. sorry about your "operation" and the droppings. but realx and take it easy for a bit. fishing is about to get good again before it gets cold. so take it easy and give the cat some ice cream too. he/she deserves it after killing those nasty bombers for ya.

Hope you're feeling better. I just went through something similiar. Two weeks ago I had the same pain. Went to a Med Express place and they sent me straight to the hospital. Had the cat scan and they found an infecteion in my large intestine. Have been living on veggies and fruit for the last two weeks. Put up with the pain for 5 days before I went. I guess the older we get the more stubborn we get. Anyway, I'm losing some weight. Put a dampining on my fishing too.

Wow, thats a really awfull weekend for sure. Hope you are feeling better soon! It does sound like something that would make a good comedy. You should send it in to a tv show or something, haha.

My wife had to have the same surgery this past winter and she was sore for quite a while. Sorry to laugh at you dude but the picture of two birds crapping all over you while you were asleep is making me laugh my butt off. It does sound like a rough weekend and sorry you had to cancel your fishing plans. I hope you heal fast!

Well the doc said I'll be off my feet for 2-3 weeks, but I figure as soon as I get the stitches out I'll be good to go. Going for a follow up tommorrow so maybe they'll yank em out then but I doubt it. I think the worst part about the whole thing is the gas they blow you up with so they can see better.

Sucks to be you! Good that you had it taken care of - appendicitis can be really serious.

Well the doc told me today that it would be at least 6 weeks until I am fit enough to fish, 3 till I can go back to class. I didn't know that an appendectomy had such a long recoup time. It sucks I'm going to miss my favorite time of the year fishing wise, but maybe I'll be able to sneak back into the fold before it gets too cold.

6 weeks? Man, that bites. Best part of the fall hasn't hit yet. Maybe he'll give you some time off for good behavior?
