Wondering if anyone works out. I've been doing it ever since last summer before I started football. I joined a lifting forum too, getting deeper into this stuff ya know? So wonder what ya'll favorite lifts are, what ya eat, all that stuff. Thanks!

I have been enjoying a $5 foot long Meatall/Pepperoni for the month of March at Subway. I get my protein and light curls with high reps.

I have been married for 28 years now so working out would send the wrong signal. The trick is to use your big old dinosour brain to get the younger guys to do the heavy work. Big ol dino brain... Capt Mike

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAA........PO OL SAMMIE. sorry buddy, i gave it up yrs ago. lisa has been wanting me to to, but the coke curls and reeses cups for my protein fix is aobut it. for real, if oyu are going to buy oyur own weights, get the dumb bells pal. oyu can add to em as oyu get stronger. there are so many things i can tell you but there isn't enough time or space here. find some excrises on the web. there is LOTS of em. you probably don't know of herschel walker, he won the heisman and played for georgia. anyway. he only did puch ups and situps and leg lifts while running sprints. look him up on the web. look at his condition. he got up to 2,000 of each set. tlak aobut getting in shape! 2 grand of situps, pushups, leglifts and sprints? i am tired jsut thinking aobut it. lol.

Sammy, you need to concentrate on a balanced work out. Don't just hit the weights, you need cardio too. Build up your endurance as well as your strength. You should also try really hard to eat a healthy diet, cut out cokes and some of the junk you probably eat. Shoot for being lean and quick, strength will come with it.

I have to tell you guys. Usually stuff on TV is snake oil, but I have a copy of P90x, and when I do it instead of being a lump it works like crazy. I just hat ete Yoga part. I dont have the balance or flexibility to do that stuff... but if you want a core workout, that is where it is at. The other big factor is watching your diet. And I am awful when it comes to eating healthy

Thanks guys, and lol guys! I knew I could cont on you for some fun havin BS. lol I'm definitely changing my diet... I've been restraining myself for the cokes and doritos we've got laying around, lol! I wake up and have a power break fast, Oatmeal, or shredded wheat, with some cottage cheese on the side! Lots of protein and carbs to keep me doing. As far as cardio, I hate it with a passion, lol.

My wife has been working out seriously with a personal trainer for the past couple months so I decided to try it too. I gave up pop and junk food and have lost 8 pounds in the past 2 weeks. I've only been to the gym 3 times this week (first time to a gym in my life) and the high school pool has open swim times so we have been doing that too. Swimming in a killer though. I plan to get on some type of a plan/system but haven't decided on which one yet. I'm just doing cardio and machines so far.

Bender - be careful you don't lose too much too soon.....otherwise the significant other will get bitter. Seen it happen many times when I worked at the Y designing programs for members. Got my two PE classes in the weight room twice a week. Did a 6 week strength program with them. Now I have them doing a growth program. I try to get in as much as I can but it's tough with 14-16 year olds. I keep it simple and only do the base lifts or what I call the core exercises. I don't call the abdominal region the "core". It's the abdominal region. |
