Pictorial review of 2013
Early monster cat season did not fail me. ![]() The spider crappie season started with a cold front that shut down the big bite and pushed the fish back deep. But even with the two week delay we managed to get some quality crappie. ![]() And some LGMouth as well. ![]() Then the river opened up its bounty and delivered astounding numbers of good crappie. ![]() I headed south to CBBT to get some cobia but again I was two weeks early and only found bull reds.. OH well.. ![]() Yea, it was tough to deal with, as we had multiple hook ups.. ![]() With summer coming on strong I was back in the swamps again for Potomac Pike and those pesky LGMouth on top water. ![]() ![]() About mid-summer Capt Dave Snellings joined me in the swamps to help cover the growing requests for trips. ![]() Labor Day finds a large group of fisherman joining me to fish the Piankatank area and the weather was perfect. Lots of puppy drum and few bulls too. For the next month I fished every weekend down there and found a many bowfin and a nice surprise. By now fall is coming on strong and I hop a plane to Houma LA to fish the bayou for 6 days. Back to Maryland and back to monster cats. Off to Buxton NC to wash my soul in the surf and the weather was less than good. Winds and cold weather did not stop me from catching reds. ![]() ![]() So on to next year and more adventures to be shared. Happy Holidays to all you all. Capt Mike

I wanna be you when I grow up....
Quick question for you; what's the big fish you caught in LA? Fifth picture from the bottom? I don't recognize it.

My favorite is Pic number 3.
Capt. I want to thank you for all the great pictures this season. It's been great to see the happy faces on your guests and the surprised look on ALL the fish! ![]() As fish catch rates go, do you think this was an average year, great year or poor year?

In 2013
LGMouth was best it has ever been.. Potomac Pike was not as good as years past .. catch rate was 1/4 of four years ago. Blue Cats is 14 times better than last year... Crappie was good but not as good as 8 years ago. Red drum just gets better each year.. Bowfin is the best ever.. fantastic in fact. All considered with the new introduced fish, I landed maybe 10 times more fish than than I did 20 years ago. Capt Mike
