				 | Heading to Pensacola, FL...Any fishing suggestions?

Gonna be heading to Pensacola on the 13th of this month. Was wonderin if anyone had some fishing ideas for that area for this time of year. Went there 2 years back and caught one 2 inch "king" mackeral, an 11 inch sea trout, bluefish, a puffer fish, and a bucket load of catfish(this angered me greatly, didn't go fish salt water for catfish). I also saw what I first thought was a cloud shadow coming across the water....but then I looked up; and immediately looked back at the water and casted......then watched as I cut a 2 foot whole thru that cloud....dunno what they where but they where not having any part of me catching them. Could't believe it though......a school of fish I could drown my town in. Y'all shoulda seen the tan I came back with. You could determine my fishing style from it....heheheh...I imagine I come home with it again. Didn't realize how excited I am to be going down there until just now.......don't wanna stop talkin bout it.

When i go to Pensacola to go fishing I usually use live minnows or some spec jigs............ Depends on what your fishing for........... Are you fishing off the peir their or out in a boat......

Yeah if your going for flounder or Sea trout I would use some live minnows or some live shrimp...... I bet it wasnt as crowded as it was when i went to the airshow there this year.. You couldnt even see the sand for all the umbrelas and tents around the peir........ A Speceld trout jig is a good lure to use while out there................ Hey while your dowm there stop off at Hooters for me. I didnt get to go last time cause everyone wanted to go to Mesquite Charlies.........

Shrimp dont bite they just kinda kick your hand and get free................. I would advise to grab them qiuck and hold on to the pretty tight or the will kick you..... It dont hurt. Its one of those things that scares you more than hurts you......... You probably could use a rubber band if you could figure a way of getting it on there...

if you want trout.........find flatts! then skip a red/white grub jigged thru them......this will also work for reds.......when using shrimp, you will catch anything....anything that swims will eat shrimp. next time you see a school of fish like that....look out......prime time for sharks. ya, i hate those saltwater catfish....they taste nasty.....and get really slimmy when you catch them.....good luck....and have some pics for us.

go to shore line park and wade the grass flats on your left the east side.just walk down the shore as far as you can and wade out there.fish a white grub with a pink tail.that has worked best for me.we quit taking shrimp about 2 years ago you can cover more water with jigs and we didnt notice any drop in the number or size we were catching.go all the way to the bridge and fish your way down.the last boat house right before the bridge has a nice flounder hole.slow your jig down til you feel the grass catching it for founder.you can feel the grass ticking the jig like fishing a rattle trap over grass.good luck if i didnt have a bass tournament i would join you.ps. the red fish will hit the jig to but they do like the shrimp better.try them around the boat houses and peirs.
