Lately there has been some concern by the fishing community about the fish population over at Meadows Lake. We are conducting a survey that allows "YOU" to have some input on the issues of increased fishing pressure to the 59 acre "Super Pond". Please take some time and give us your input. http://texasfishingmaps.net/survey/
You can also read a report done by TPWD on this particular lake: http://texasfishingmaps.net/report/M...eport_2006.pdf Thanks for your support, thedudster Dudley P Allen 2102 Phlox CT Round Rock, Texas 512 246 0414 512 659 4305 CELL http://www.texasfishingmaps.net |

IMO 14"-21" slot size should be enforced, and only 1 Bass over 21" can be taken. In my state(Tennessee) most lakes are 14"-18" slot and 1 over 18", it really keeps the fishing quality high, but since you are in Texas and the lake is so small your slot size should be of higher standards.

Here in southern arkie slaw we have 3 lakes that are in a Big Bass Program. They have a 16-21" slot. You can only keep 4 fish per outting. 3 of them can be under 16 and 1 over 21. This slot has produced tremendous fish growth. On one of these lakes it is very possible to catch sveral 4lb plus fish in a day. We have already had several fish of 12lb plus show up. I personally feel that this is great and also feel that the next Arkansas record is just a cast away since they implented this slot.

Bass, to me are not the best tasting game fish in my opinion, I would not object to having more lakes set a single bass limit or even go CPR catch photograph release, or just Catch and Release for some folks.

I like a mandatory 12-15 inch slot on some small ponds. It's a pain when every cast, you catch one in that range, and nothing else. All the forage gets eaten, and growth is stunted. Friend and I fished a pond like that, and we started keeping the bass, and moving them to a pond with way too many bream, and that evened things out. Wound up pulling some nice bass out of both ponds.

the lake i fish most has a 12" to 18" slot, you can keep as many as you want that are under 12" and only one a day over 18". The lake record is 11 lbs something.
