Default I need help

When does it finally hit you that you need help ? I am moving to a new home and I collected some of my fishing stuff up.I was considering buying a new rod because I broke one on a musky and Lizards chatterbait lure.Moving made me think I anit in need of anything anytime soon. The box under the reels has 24 more reels in it.There are 42 rods in the picture. There is another 3/4 of a bucket of hards I dug up since the photo this morning. Please send me anything you don't use.I didn't realize I am in need of more tackle. P N J

Those reels hidden are probably all Shimano's you just didn't want to let everyone know rotfl. Sorry about the Musky, I'll send you another Chatterbait, if you'll send me a mid/shallow diving chartreuse crankbait. For the life of me I just can't find any around here. I prefer Normans if you got any LOL. I've actually been giving things away for coming up on a year now. I still have over 200lbs of tackle alone LOL. Good luck with the new place, still the same PO Box?

Well pnj, I'd be more than willing to take some of those setups off your hands, lol. I can think of several others here who would lend a helping hand to remedy you of your affliction!

Ironman, that's the accumulation of many years of fishing. I'd be willing to bet if you stay serious about fishing after 30+ years you will accumulate that much stuff, too. Upgraded rods, reels, technique specific rods, etc.-it does pile up.

More eyes, stronger, better casting, more durable, you get what you pay for.

My poles were about thirty doller's is that pretty expensive for a rod. It's just some kind of ugly stick but I noticed on all your guy's poles they have cork like stuff for a handle and mine is like a cushion is that bad?

5 reels, 4 rods...its sad. I'll probably be buying a few quantums or pfluegers soon, I'm starting to really like both companies.

erm, ironman. Ugly stiks aren't known for their sensitivity. Theyr'e very heavy. You want a light, strong rod. for now, I'm trying to focus on buying Quality gear over numbers. Go to a tackle shop and feel some rods. you will see some weigh less or more than others, some have better bend, or maybe the spine isn't placed right. 30 bucks honestly isn't so expensive for a rod. some go up to 340 (G Loomis, i beleive) and there is a 50 dollar megabass rod. i fish with a st.croix avid, which is 250, and dayum it took tons of hard work to get it. cork does tend to be more seensitive. i don't know so much about rods though, bassresource.com will tell you more.

that said i did buy a new rod and reel today... 3 bucks at a flea market

Ironman try an all star rod. They are good rods and not really expensive.

One word: Quality. As Vabass said, you get what you pay for. Welcome to the forum, BTW! To you, $30 is expensive. When I was your age I thought so, too. Now it is inexpensive. I'm willing to pay more and get better quality equipment. As a result, the less expensive/quality equipment gets retired.

Ask this to 100 people get 100 answers. It depends on what you are doing with it. To some degree you get what you pay for. Just look arouund BassProShop's website or any other catalog and see some of the high end reels for an idea. Do you need so spend $500 on a spinning reel to catch fish, probably not but at the same time you don't want a $20 reel that screws up all the time either.
PNJ - someday, in the distant future I hope to have a collection like that. Well, maybe not that many rods, but a lot anyway.

Im liking the Quantums, and Pfleugers, and I would mtch it with a Falcon, St. Croix, or an Allstar rod. For a little bit cheaper, I'd go with a Berkeley rod.
