| BassFishin.Com Super Veteran | Fishing Line

I am going to get some new mono fishing line because I have none. I've heard a lot of good things about Ande mono. I would like to get a large spool. (at least 1,500 yds.) I was thinking about 12 pound test and up. What is the exact type of line and test you get? Thanks. -Julien |

Jools-what kind of rod are you using? For a baitcaster 12 lb is great-that's what I use. If it is a spinning reel I'd go no heavier than 10 and would recommend 8. Heavier line doesn't work as well on a spinning reel unless it is a big reel. Either the paperwork or the reel itself will have the recommended line weights for the reel you are using. Ande is a good line. So is Trilene Big Game. For line color it is personal preference but I prefer green mono.

Anytime . For that reel I'd go with 12 lb, 17 at the heaviest. All I throw is 12.

ANDE all the way. I use 10lb. on my casters but thats just personal preference. And as Zook said you can get green envy for seeing your line. You will easily find 1500yds. of that stuff. If not just PM me since anybody carries that stuff down here since most use it for saltwater. Chris |

I'm with Reb. I use 12lb Ande for cranks and top waters. I bought a spool of it after hearing Zooker go on and on and on and on about it everytime there was a question about what line everybody uses. He didn't steer me wrong.

They didn't have any Big Game, so I looked for the same stuff in other lines and I got Trilene XT Extra Tough Low Vis Green 12 pound test 330 yds. I really like the line, but it is different because I get more backlashes. |

I would not reccomend you go with the cheapest line you can find. You get what you pay for. I have broken off many 3lb bass, on Big Game. Go with the Ande. But thats just my.02 |
