The number of times you see something and say "that's a great idea-wonder why I dodn't think of that"? I've had a couple in the last few days-the first one is using a twin tailed grub(curl tail) on a chatterbait. the second is using a long crawfish bait like a Tiki Crawdude: On a shakey head. Think about it: The way a shakey head rides in the water is tail up, so with this kind of bait it would be claws up, just like a crawfish on the defensive!

reb, thats super wierd, today i threw the chatterbait with a twin tail. Guess what happened? the weight and resistance of the grub actually made the thin chatter blade bend down after about 1/2 hour. I think actually it was just too thin of metal. I took the twin trailer off, (brown n chartreuse) , and bend the blade back even and threw it some more, no hits yet. |

Kind of like replacing the weight on a drop shot rig w/ a jig.

I guess they call it the "bubba rig". I thought I invented it. Seriously, if you don't have a rule telling you that you can't have two baits, why wouldn't you think of that?

Just a little follow up. I fished Fri and Sun. Were caught a total of 39 Lm and SM. 20 were on the chatterbait with the fluke for a trailor. all our biggest fish hit the Chatterbait. If you get a windy day( 15 to 20) go to the wind swept points and throw the Chatterbait rigged that way. If the wind is creating mud lines thats even better. Fish2win

One of my favorites is to throw a swimbait, like a Berkley Hollow Belly too. It too imitates a feeding organism. -Buzz |

If it's on a Shakey Head, the claws will always be above the bottom, so you don't really have to worry about them floating. If anything, when you twitch it, it wil give action to them, making them flutter up/down. -Buzz |
