				 | The new Rapala DT Fat 3 Has any one tried this lil guy yet? it is my favorite crank, yes i know that $7.30+ is a little expensive, but like i have heard it called "a little bulldozer" it really is. this thing dominates when it comes to shalow water. i thaught i would just say that. so what do yal think??????

Haven't tried them yet, but I am planning to. And $7 isn't that much when you look at some of the foreign cranks like Lucky Crafft and such. BB

the lips are too dern thin they will break very easily trust me i have a hand ful of them with broken lips... if you want shallow water baits that plum catch fish and wont break or leave you penniless. bandit 100, an 1/8oz speed trap,or a norman baby n. tied up too some 12-14 pound test mono and have at it.. these baits in skinny water don't need light line.. i use 12 pound mono. zooker

I'm suprised Zook or someone else hasn't pointed this out yet... but in your title of the original post you have DT Fat, but the picture is a DT Flat... As for both crankbaits... DT Fat 3: I have 6 different colors, and have had great sucess to everything from small farm ponds, to fishing rip rap on lake erie for largemouth. A great bait that has a wide wobble, you can cast a mile. As for the lips breaking on these baits, I have never had any DT series bait break on me. DT Flat 3: I have 4 colors of the DT Flat 3, and they are a better cold water crankbait for me, becasue they have a tight wiggle, instead of a wider wobble. They work good around rip rap, and haven't caught anything on them since the water has been over about 55-60 degrees. A good early spring time bait, and I will try them this fall when the water dips back below the 60 degree mark. All in all they are both great baits that have their place in your tackle lineup. Ryan

Ryan i have allot faith in zook when it comes to crankbaits. On this site he is the crankbait King. Because of that i accept what he has to say about & put faith in his statment. How many tournaments have fished against David Fritts. But saying all that Zook don't make me break our the Sassy Shad. I on the other love swim baits like the sassy shad, panther martains & Storms. They are for me what the crankbait is for Zook. On any given day of the week the Zook is King. Accept when i show up throwing MR Sassy.

i am not great with a crankbait. i work hard to only be decent.. it takes alot of time fishing alot of the same bank all the time. to find the key time an water condition in a certain place to catch fish with a certain bait.. welcome to cranking... zooker
