best baitcasting reel

I've been using quantum reels all my life but have been dissappointed in the last couple that I bought. Who makes a great baitcaster.

not sure how much you are wanting to spend but i have several abu-garcia revo sx reels and i love them all. never had a problem with them and i can cast light baits into strong winds all day with good distance and no problems.

I would place the Revo at #1 but the Pflueger Supreme is a great reel also and it doesnt break the bank either!

Revo , you can get Revo Priemere's on EBay really cheap. I paid 279.00 for mine , and just seen them on EBay for 180.00.

revo. i already have two stx's and i just bought two more and the wench i havent had a chance to use the wench but im sure im sure it will be as good as the others once you use them you wont wanna pick up another reel.

i have a revo s and love it. I got it on ebay for 100 bucks. it is the cheapst of the revo series but it is still a great reel. The brake system is easy to adjust and the side plate is secured by a small screw so it doesn't fall off. i would recomend this reel to anyone.

team diawa or pfluger trion's are hard to beat always have been.. i have used a revo sx -NOT impressed enough to hand over that kind of money..

Daiwa and Abu Garcia. I've heard Shimano's are good too, but I haven't tried them yet.

The best bang for the buck right now is a Daiwa TDX. They're selling for $149 at BPS because its being phased out but its a great reel for that price. I was foolish for selling the ones I had.

I was on the Revo bandwagon from the start but now I am not.

I got a new Citica E for Christmas.In my opinion, it is very difficult to beat the Citica E for the money.It is made in Japan, unlike the previous Citica D series.Its $10 less than the Revo S. It's lighter in weight than the Revo S. It's more comfortable to palm than the Revo S was and will flat out cast a whole lot better than the Revo S did.

I am also in the minority, I had a Revo SX HS and was very happy the day I got rid of it. I like the Daiwas but only have one, all my others are Shimanos from the new Curado, Calcuttas, Chronarch MG, Citicas, etc. I think that they got a little full of themselves with their prices, but they did an amazing thing and LOWERED the price of the Curado.

I was going to buy one of the new curados for my first shimano baitcaster, but I found a Revo on ebay at a deal I couldn't say no to. soooo.... I now have a brand new Skeet Reese Revo (279.99) in the mail. I got it for $180, the same price as the curado.

I'm expecting it to be here this week.

Too bad they only make right handed ones. Well they didn't last year, has this changed? I know Pflueger makes BPS's reels, and I have a Johnny Morris Signature reel and I really like it. Casting with the dual brakes is awesome.

I just don't understand it at all. I love pfluegor allot. But why take there stuff & badge it with the BPS name. Instead of doing that why does'nt johny start his own reel company. I mean pflueger has a strong legacy. Why taint that with some rebadged reels.

Daiwa repackaged it's Capricorn line with a few added goodies for Cabela's under the Prodigy name. It's just how business is done these days. It's called private label. Private labels are a great way for a company to:

1-increase customer loyalty since you can only get that brand there.
2-increase profit as companies buy the products at product cost plus wholesale markup, minus national advertising expenses, and packaging production costs. Then supply their own packaging.
3-The customer saves a few bucks, and the company makes a higher profit percentage.

I got it on ebay for 100 bucks. it is the cheapst of the revo series but it is still a great reel.
