jcw1503, I think WTL is just trying to prove a point here by getting your attention with these enormous numbers. That's IMHO anyways... Comedy with a Cause ~Mark |

Everybody puts their fish count on the forum now. I think WTL is just showing that it gets annoying.

For the record I'm not exactly sure what I am doing. But among fishermen, is a little embellishment really a bad thing?

My delicate trust in all fisherman has been severely damaged by WTL's blatant deception... Will I ever learn to trust again? Are all my relationships for the rest of my life going to be damaged? Oh where fore art thou Dr. Phil???????? (Multiple question marks are equally annoying!

OK, I will try to explain myself. My avatar as well as my signature and sometimes my demeanor has grown progressivly more tongue in cheek. To say that there is any real motive or lesson I am trying to impart on you people would be a lie, I have no real intentions - wasnt going anywhere with the whole bass count to speak of. Which I guess is why I referenced Bob Dylan above, it seems to me sometimes he just did stuff for the hell of it and people tried to infer some great point he was making - and really he was just wasting his own time for the sake of amusement. But since we are talking about bass counts and whether or not they are annoying, not to me, no. But there is the potential that later on it could become a pissing contest where the winner might end up being the biggest liar or he who lives close enough to a spectacular body of water that pads the stats. Then, if we start paying more attention to those members with gaudy stats as if they are better or more knowledgable fishermen, that would be a sad occurance as there are some fine fishermen on this board still sitting on 0 for the year.

well stated wtl. i for one have cought none thus far this year. but that will change i know. i think the younger fella are keeping count, and that is great. they probably are doing it to keep track for themselves (i hope), so that they can see how they are learning and growing as fishermen. i am fine with an acurate count and such. as long as it doesn't come to as you call it a pissing contest. keep up the count guys, learn, grow, and help others as you do this. after all, we ALL want to catch more fish and bigger fish. use it as a tool guys. i will not keep sount of my catches as far as numbers, but i will for sure show my larger catches.

As for my bass count, i do it all to keep track for my records... to look back and see what weather was, temperatures, and what I was catching fish on last year around the same time. Ryan
