				 | A Lesson on always paying attention!!!

I was out fishing the past weekend on a jon boat at the state park lake i told yall about. The water temperature was low and we realized it after we already paid for the boat. Anyways we were working everything we could find because the temperature had been so up and down that there was no telling were they were at. Well we came to a dock, and he was worked one side and i worked the other....I was on the 5th or 6th cast working it and nothing...as i was at the last 3 feet of the dock right near our boat i looked over at my buddy and said there is nothing here and lets go over to another spot and i said this during my last little twitch..I was not paying attention because i figured there was nothing and was barely holding my rod and then bam, something hit my rod and knocked it out of my hands and about out of the boat...I grabbed the rod but it was too late, it was gone...It was the hardest hit i had ever had and i missed it because of not paying attention...

it always happens that way man. you're out there just passing time and not really paying attention and one will hit. i have had it happen to me more than once. it is a wake up call for us all. cause you never know when a bass will strike. lesson learned.

That's rule #3 found in the "Bass Fishing Handbook"..... "Work every cast as if you expect to catch the fish of a lifetime"

i think that is what really makes pros good..... they concentrate on every cast..... feel, hear, and think about everything that should/could/ or will happen
