I was just wondering how many of you are out there?. Cause to be honest I'm really not, I will be bringing banana's with me and they will be on my boat. I take them every fishing trip and I still end up catching something...you now what I mean . The ONLY thing that bother's me is catching a fish on the first cast...it's been the kiss of death.....lol. Don't take me to serious, but it is true above. cya Denny |

not really i have yet to run into something that i would consider a jinx or a bonus to have with me , though i do always manage to bring a rod reel and tackle which i feel has increased the amount of fish I catch , swimming around after them just wasn't working to well . Jim

As long as you don't bring Bananas on the boat... I have my lucky shirt on, my big fish pants are in their compartment and my big fish hat is still sitting in his permanent residence inside my hull... oh, and on the way to the lake the Elk are standing on their feet instead of sitting down... and the carp are jumping... and everyone turns their cell phone off... and no one has done anything in the last week that will bring the bad juju down on them... then I don't show my superstitious side! Even I think its crazy most of the time but you can't knock success. No point in risking it, stay away from the bad juju. |

Each time I bring my nice digital camera I lay a giant goose egg. When I just have my cell phone I slay them. I don't even have to be the one with the camera. Buddy and I went to the upper Potomac river near Harper's Ferry and when we stopped at 7-11 to stock up on food he buys a disposable camera. Long story short, GOOSE EGG!!

Hey Bama, I'll bring you a cap of my college team next time I see you. I have a superstition where if I relieve myself in the lake its bad luck. Obviously sometimes I gotta deal with the bad luck though.

Naturally you would, after all, I was recently declared the greatest fisherman of all time by a man in a white labcoat. He even gave me a jacket to wear. Unfortunatly I cant sign the hat while wearing the jacket cause it makes it difficult to write or use my hands in any way, but you will get the hat my friend, signed in my blood or a reasonable substitute.

Usually for me, fish on first cast-no more for the day. I have proved this wrong once or twice. But the odds definately are not in my favor. Nanners usually no, I eat them on the way.

there is a whole pile of superstitions.. the only two i follow is the curse of the nanner and the redheaded woman on board.. both come from the old days of sailors on sail boats.. bannanas tend to haul hidden critters in them.. like big dangerus spiders and venomus snakes.. and the redhead thing.. well take it from me if you were copped up on a boat with a redhead for 3 months straight you'd hang your self...BELIVE ME!!! zooker

here's why no nanners. and proof of zook's knowledge on the subject! TULSA, OK -- The world's deadliest spider found in a Tulsa grocery store. An employee at Whole Foods Market at 1401 East 41st Street found a Brazilian Wandering Spider wandering around in their produce section. The store handed the spider over to biologists at the University of Tulsa who say that employee is lucky to be alive. Terry Childs is the director of TU's Animal Facilities and a self-proclaimed spider lover. He has a scary-looking but harmless friend Cuddles the tarantula. He is harmless, unless you're an insect. "The venom starts to break the prey down on the inside and then she slurps it out kind of like a smoothie," said Terry Childs. Childs' department is now home to a Brazilian Wandering Spider. It's being kept in a terrarium with a do not disturb sign. More people die from the spider's bite than any other spider in the world. "Within minutes you will have breathing problems, you'll start to lose control of your muscles, you'll start to drool and within 20 to 25 minutes you'll probably collapse on the floor and die of asphyxiation," said Terry Childs. And, that's why he says people at Tulsa's Whole Foods market are lucky to be alive. On Sunday an employee found the spider wandering across the bananas in the produce section. "She managed to capture it in one of these containers until I got there," said Terry Childs. Apparently the spider, also known as a banana spider, hitched a ride on some bunches of bananas all the way from Honduras. It turns out it is the kind of thing that happens all the time, but this particular spider is more threatening than most. "This particular one happens to be one of the most aggressive ones I've actually come across. This thing will actually jump at you," said Terry Childs. A manager at Whole Foods wouldn't talk on camera but said they check their produce for spider and insects. In fact, he said, that's how the world's deadliest spider was found in Tulsa, Oklahoma. "There is an antidote for the bite of this spider. Unfortunately I don't think we have any around here," said Terry Childs with the University of Tulsa. The spider will not stay at TU for long. It will likely be taken to another university for research. |
