hey what else would you use this rod for it is 7 ft. heavy action. so probably flippin but what else would you say its good for? (besides carolina rigs)

Depending on how sensitive a tip it has, maybe some deep cranks.

everett, I was thinking about that, but I think the rod is too heavy for crankbaits, even deep ones. And being a rod for c-rigging with heavy weights, it most likely has a Fast or Extra Fast action, not good for cranking.

danielbasspro, I was just wondering, do you do a lot of c-rigging? I'd imagine not if you're asking about other uses for a c-rig rod, but still curious.

Bassin, I was curious about that as a possiblilty. I have some 7 foot medium heavy that do pretty well. I have also learned that sometimes a rod is not the best for an area, but it will work because it is already paid for and it is sitting in the box!

Is that a graphite, glass or composite rod? Glass or composite rod would probably be ok, but I am not so much on the graphite for cranking.

The rod is graphite I know that. I've looked at all three different makes of crankbait rods, and personally, I like a composite or graphite rod. but the graphite rod has to have an action I like. I settled on a custom rod made on a Rainshadow blank because I really liked the flex of that graphite blank. It makes a good, yet very lightweight crankbait rod.

You could use it to go after some BIG cats. Not a catfisherman here, but I know that would work. Also make a decent musky rod. As for bass fishin, pretty much what others said above. Froggin in heavy cover.

I have the same rod in the cara t7 model and I think it actually is a better frog rod than carolina to be honest with you. As far as my rod it doesn't really have all that fast of an action but yeah I would say its slightly to stiff still for cranks.
