If you're around rocks then braid may not be the best choice. I would have to say that Mono or flouro are best in the rocks. I would also say that a high vis line (I believe that is what the tracer part is about) is best for other species that wouldn't be line shy. I use tracer type line for steelhead and add a leader. If you do plan to use a leader then this is an ok option.

For fishing rocks, you want something abrasion resistant. Which makes me think fluorocarbon. When dealing with FC lines, normally, the stiffer the line, the more abrasion resistant. BB

No problem, also check out wal-mart for 100 yard spools of trilene 100%, its like 9 bucks when you get a 150 yard spool for 17. Who the hell uses 150 yards anyway?? why is that the norm unless its a toray or similar swimbait line? Sorry for the rant. |

i use 65 lb fireline braid in rocks with no problem.just check it once in a while.true, flouro is more abrasion resistant but it has it's own issues like one backlash and you now have $20 worth of garbage on your reel.at the most i would use a flouro leader but i've never had to.
