				 | Deep running Cranks

I am fairly stocked in cranks upto the 10-12 foot mark, but would like to add some deeper ones to my arsenal. What do you all suggest for the deeper cranks? I want to pick up a few before a tourney this weekend.

Of course I will chime in as the Norman DD22 fan. It says 11-17 feet, but I have run it as deep as 20ft while trolling it.

the bigger fat free shads are awesome crankbaits with a great action. strike king series 6's are good crankbaits as well but strike king and i are not getting along too well right now after i bought about $200 worth of their crankbaits and about half of them fill up with water right out of the box.

I'm fond of the Norman DD22's and Rapala DT16 and DT20. Zooker mentioned the Poes and Bandit brands. I don't have either in deep diver versions but wish I did. I have medium divers from those brands and they really produce! I've got to get a few from them, but dang, where the heck do I put them? LOL

I've fished a variety of deep diving baits, they are my weakness when I'm at a tackle store!!! Early on in my cranking years I always fished Normans and Rapalas. Now I throw alot of bombers, and a few Raps and storm wiggle worts now and again. Not only do I pay attention to fish catching ability, but how each brand reaches its diving depth, and how easy it fishes through cover. I've noticed that bombers and the wiggle wort bounce off the cover better than anything I've fished with. But this year I caught my biggest bass on a crankbait, a 4.5 pound largemouth on a Rap DT 16. But I've lost a lot of the dt series Rap's in brush. I've started playing around with the new bandit 700's but haven't used them alot. But my personal favorites are the bombers. From their hardware, finishes and abiltiy to fish through cover, they are my first choice when I throw a deep crank. I've heard alot of good things about luhr Jensen cranks but never used one.
