Saturday was a reminder to me that unlike recreation fishing, I am fishing against other anglers rather than just the fish. I did not have a bite for the first four hours. I finally got a keeper to the boat at 1100 and ended up with 2 others. I pulled into the dock feeling rather disappointed until I noticed all of the head shaking and cursing from my opponents.
When it was said and done, a fish just over 3 lbs, mine, took big fish and my 3 fish 7 lbs bag was good enough for 3rd. Just a reminder that you may not be the only one on the water having a hard time landing a fish.

Yeah. That happens occasionally. Same thing happened to me once but I didn't get the big fish.
It's not over until it's over. |

Took 1st and big fish with a 2 pounder last year, and I've heard stories of 1 pound spotted bass doing the same.
Congrats on 3rd and big fish

Congrats, Cass. You've certainly been working on it for a while now. It must feel great.

Great Job on the 3rd place! I had a day similar last year at a river.... took a 2 pounder and 4 lbs. overall to win the co-angler side!
