Went out to Bethany Lakes solo today...Its absolutely beautiful...Deep,and holds big bass...But its highly pressured being in a park, and the fishing has been tough on me and Jrob when we go.
Today that change finally, haha! I met and fished with a real nice guy from a local club...After a 1/2oz spinnerbait I switched to a baby bass Bomber fat free to match the forage..And smacked to first two off that....1.3lb and the 2.5lber....My new friend quickly switched to a crankbait ![]() It quickly died off after those two...After a few more lures I finally rigged a carolina with a LFT hyper worm...Miss one, then switched it to a 5'' pumpkin senko on the carolina..First cast got me my third fish..another solid keeper fish. After that nothing more to report, but it felt good outfishing the tourney club guy and getting some good fish! ![]()

Catching is alway better than not... That friendly competition is always a plus too. Congrats.

I'm glad you finally conquered Bethany Lakes! Wish I could have been there. I'm not even gonna lie, I was pretty jealous knowing you were catching fish while I was working on a Saturday!

I'm just glad you caught some fish! I was getting pretty bummed that we hadn't had much luck in such a great looking spot.
For those of you playing along at home, this is the "special spinning rod" place. |
