Default New Build: Nothing Runs Like A Deere

I finally got the last coat on and she is ready to fish. The is a 6'6" CRB (Custom Rod Builder) M-F Green blank with Fuji Concept guides (25-16-10-8-7s-7 tip), black dimpled winding checks, and wrapped with Fishhawk thread. These blanks are killer on light colored threads. I layed a silver metallic under the guides and in front of the real seat and just let it roll in the split grip. I tried to just wrap it, but the blank just bled through too bad and ended up cutting it off the guides and re-wrapped. About the only thing I wish I could change is trimming down the reel seat, but other than that I am happy with it. I just hope the guy I built it for is too.

And I added a couple I am working on. And I have no idea what "Morphie Stik" stands for, I am just a puppet and do what I am told.

That is very cool!!! My brother in law would love a rod like that as he is a big collector of John Deer toy tracters. That rod could also be changed to appeal to Green Bay Packer fans.

Bubba,

Did you have to get permission to use the John Deer logo? I know some decal vendors won't touch copyrighted stuff without a consent form. Looks good.

The old Morphie Stik. Looks good Bubba. Those surf guides look awesome! Your boy, Lance took care of you. Nice work!

Killer all the way around Bubba!!
I like those guides as well...They make a cool looking stripper for micro set ups.
Do you know off the top of your head if Lance carries the aluminum trim pieces for his handles in different colors??

Yes, he would technically need permission to reproduce the logo, but not to include a legally-produced logo in his fishing rod. Bubba, did you purchase the logo decal somewhere?

Now the trademarked slogan, I am not so sure about...

When I talked to Lance the other day, he was talking about getting the trim pieces in green and purple for his store line of rods. He said he has to order 500-1000 of them to get them made, and they are not cheap for a washer bored out. If he tells me he is getting them, I will certainly pass it on to you.

I did purchase them at a store. All I can say is that's about all I can say about that.

Wow, those looks sweet! That's definitely my favorite handle design on a spinning rod. Them two casting rods are NICE looking too.

Curado that John Deere rod is a cool rod, you don't see many Johnny Popper rods out there.
