New Trolling Motor for the Nitro

Got a Minn Kota 55 Edge for my Nitro regular Price was 629.00 but after sale price and Cabelas points got it shipped for 400.18. They also had a Onboard charger free with any Edge motor purchase. A 99.00 value so overall I thing I got a pretty good deal. Anybody have any pros/cons on the Edge? This is my second Minn Kota but first Edge.

i ran that same motor for 2 years and its on my buddies boat now. excellent motor for me. just didnt have enough go fast power in wind and the 1-5 knob isnt as good as the variable speed.

Well anything will be better that the 30# Motor Guide that came on the boat. After all it is only a 16.5 Nitro as far as speed that will come from the 70 OB Hanging on the back. LOL

55 should be plenty fishable on that. you just cant 'blast' from spot to spot as good as youd like to. i went to a 74 and its about right.

i have a 56#thrust motorguide i am wanting to sell. if oyu have a motorguide mount it would fit. i want $200.00 bucks for it. had it posted on here too.

but i know nothing about the minn kota's. sorry bud.

i went to an 80# for my rig. love it.
