So.... is it possible to just buy a hull with all the color gells and everything on it and a trailer thats painted as well just not the engine electronics ect? i would want it to be a 21ft ranger... How much would this cost? And could you buy a used engine for cheaper somewhere?... |

Go to the ranger website, pick out a dealer and call, yes they can be had without electronics, motors, most brands, think they even make more that way. yes rebuilt with 1 year warranty but not at same place ,places like this http://outboardexchange.com/ ,also available,as well as plain used-with no warranty-where ever. Price of a rebuilt is about 4-5 k less per engine,it is after all older technology, and generally weighs less. |

As lilmule said, talk with a dealer. I know you can order without the electronics on them but not sure why you would want to order one without an engine. You are taking a $50-$60k boat (guess would be $30-40K for the hull), putting a $5,000 or less motor on it? When that motor blows (it will) you will now have to buy another motor or rebuild. With new more fuel efficient motors and a warranty why would you even think of it? Keep in mind, dealers/manufactures buy engines at a much cheaper cost then just a re-power. |

You get better pricing when you buy a package versus a-la-cart.

I'm pretty sure if you could buy a new 21ft Ranger hull and trailer for $10,000, EVERY BODY would be doing it!! I know I would.
