Digital fish scales

Having lost my Berkley digital fish scale this weekend, I'm going to have to get another one. But before I do, I thought I'd see if there were any recommendations. I don't want to spend more than $50 on a scale, and I don't fish tourneys, so no need for special tare weight stuff. Just a basic scale that is acurate and reliable. My Berkley scale seemed pretty good, but had to buy a second one as the first one wouldn't work at all. Will probably buy another Berkley scale unless I get a better suggestion here.

Keith, i use a Rapala digital scale. It does the job, pretty accurate, but I think if I had it to do over again I would go with the lip grip style digital scale - like the Berkley. It's a dual purpose tool, and something that does two jobs is better than a single purpose. I have a grip tool for toothy critters, scale & net - that's three tools which I could probably cut down to the one combo tool, ie: the grip/scale. Save space, time and MONEY and reduce the clutter on my deck. I think you did it right with the Berkley

you just need to attach a FLOAT on the handle.

im done with em. i use the old manual type. at least they always work. digitals are either always out of batteries or decide to break when i need it.

I picked up a traditional style(Baker, I believe) at a sportsman show, just as tough as a Bogo, at a fraction of the price.

Can maybe find one cheaper, they retail for like a $100.

$68 is a little higher than your goal but after the 'monkey' gets his two cents in I'm figuring you may move up.

I see Rapala 25lb. Lock n grips around for like $25, but they don't float.

Just ideas to throw around.

Don't know if it's worth it, but on the interim Academy Sports has a Berkley 50lb scale on sale right now for 17.99:

I checked it out and it is a tempting scale for sure. At least it floats, haha. But it has more bells and whistles than I need. I just want to weigh the fish with a digital readout. But I'll think about it.

I've looked at this one as well as Berkleys version and it's a possability. But I'm with Bruce on the idea of the lipgrip style. But this would be more economical.
