Well, it had to happen eventually, but today is the last outing of the year. Putting the boat away for winter till spring tomorrow.

But hoping to go out with a bang. Heading back to the same lake I fished last week and where I lost a HUGE bass. Tough cold work but someone has to do it. Only need five rods. Two crank bait rods, one lipless crank, a spinner bait and a rod for worms/jigs. But it's mainly going to be a crank bait fest, both lipped and lipless worked over gravel/rock beds. Will report on the day later. Have a great Friday everyone!

you possible can!!!I went out last night, rain all day till late then reached 47. ![]() Not really cold I guess but remember, I don't have a lot of insulation. ![]() Water was only down to 58 degrees though after an all day cold rain. Told myself....last outing.....ya like I have the self control to make that happen. Sat going to get to low 50s BUT Sunday, SUNNY which makes a huge difference this time of year. Looking forward to the PICS.

That sucks! Your not suposed to give it up until the ice is to thick to break with the boat.

Good luck. I think I've got about 3-4 more trips before the decoys and guns come out.

I hope you put a serious hitch in their getalong today Keith! Since we moved to Charlotte from S. Ga. in 97 I have usually taken Dec.-Jan. off, not because of hard water of course but I just never enjoyed the prospect of 2 or 3 bites a day. But last winter as I was busy sinking brushpiles in Jan and water temps in the high 40's I began trying some of the tecniques("I think I'll take a break before the next drop and fish a few minutes") I read about here and saw on utube and managed to pull on some top quality fish, so I've decided to try and really FOCUS this year.

Hope you had a great last outing, Keith! Our boat was winterized today and is now in our garage for the next 6+ months. We also pulled our dock and boat lift up on dry land today and will finish other season-closing tasks tomorrow before we head home.

Will post my thoughts of the final day in another post. I had written a long winded response yesterday for this post and the site said I wasn't authorized to post it. Pissed me off. And yes, I was logged in. Will try again later.
