My ritual is to take off that days lures, cut about 18 inches of line off and tie on a differant lure, so that I dont get stuck in a rut using the same old thing and loose interest.

I then change all 4-5 rods that I'll carry that day and take the old junk from the tackle box out and get ready..

No supertitions here, although I do always like to bring a rod and reel, I just know I won't catch any fish without it.

Mine is praying that I won't screw up backing the boat into the water or backing the empty trailer when there are people watching. I have to tell myself before each backup which way to turn the wheel.

No real supersticious stuff. I just keep thinking over and over again, about what to tie on, then what not to tie on, then change my mind 20-30 times, depending on the weather changes, the clouds etc.... And then I do it all again the next day, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day. So this happens everyday because I always have some fishing planned

Don't have any set rituals. But one time me and a buddy where drunk as hell fishin on the river in his back yard....somewhere along the line one of us found a bell...then one of us tied it onto a stick....an 18 pack later we where dancing and a shaken that thing at the sky......2 minutes later it poured on us. Lesson learned was not to rain dance when fishing late at night down a 400 foot hill....was a heck of a climb back.

I call it the "first cast curse." The worst was some years ago when after catching one on the first cast, I never got another touch in six hours.

if I catch a bass in a body of water with very few baitfish, I'll kill it and turn it to fish food. might as well take out the competition while providing for the baitfish, can only help in the future. there's only one body of water that I'll do that around here. small but deep pond, very little cover, almost nonexistant baitfish population, only fish I catch there are VERY SKINNY!
