IT is a synthetic oil that was first used in autos and now they have oil for outboard engines that enhances performance.

I spoke to someone at Amsoil.HE said the differences would be no smoke, increased life, and better performance(whatever that means).I'll try to findout more.Oh,by the way,I got a price in Lakeland,Fl for a gallon,24.95,about 2x the price of regular oil.

Florida Mike Since I am around alot of racing involving outboards I ,we have used alot of the oils out there and this is one of the finest oils out there. It is one of about 3 oils recommended that is avaiable to the public when premixing at 40-1. That outta give you an idea on the lubrication qualities on the oil. It is excellant. Yes its pricey but when turning an engine 9000rpms and higher who cares about what a gallon of oil costs compared to a blown powerhead.

I have guys that I work with that are in a side business with AMSOIL. They gave me some outboard oil to use in my boat. It is an AWESOME product. I will not use any other oil in my boat. I can tell the difference between the Mercury oil I used to use, and the AMSOIL. Burns much cleaner, no more smoke hackers coming out of my lungs from the other brand. Starts much easier and smoother. If you have a chance give it a try!

no lizard your new moters have the same warranty as normal any certified oil will designed for your moter just pay attention to premix or injection oils. they are differant -kind like 10w30 and 5w30- same thing but differant. if your moter has oil injection make sure it says so. also 4 stroke moters use a differant breed of beast in them. there is NO mixing in 4 stroke moters. they are like a car moter. zooker

You got it right there ZOOKER. As long as the oil states that it has been tested and is recognized by the motor manufacturer it will NOT void the warranty. Contrary to popular beleif only a few oils out there do not exceed the OEM specifications required. Zook vrought up a VERY VALUABLE point. When you r purchasing oil for ur motor make SURE it is designed with your motor in mind. DFI motors need one type,EFI's another and 4 strokes another. The regular old s strole oil available at the corner quick mart wont keep a motor alive and healthy AND qill void the warranty. With to days technology and the newer motors dont you think for one minute that they cant tell that you used inferior oil. THEY CAN!
