Watchmen. I really kind of scoffed at this movie when it came out, mostly because I knew 90% of the people who were dying to see it, had never even heard of the comic. They just wanted to go see "the movie with the blue guy in it."
But I was completely, 100% wrong. Though it is not a feel good, happy ending movie, it is magnificent. It really makes you suspend your disbelief in superheroes, at least for a couple of hours. And Jackie Earle Haley's performance....he should have been nominated for an Oscar. Everyone else was pretty good, and compelling, but Haley was simply amazing.
