Me and the boys sneaked off this morning for a little fishing. But thank goodness it was for bass. No cleaning worm spuzz and liver slime off of everything. I bought "Mean Gene" a new rod for his birthday and he has been begging to go since he got it last week. He also got a fine assortment of baits and his own tackle box. He picked out a small, some kind of Wal-Mart brand jerkbait, and had a good blow up on his first cast. "Boogie" picked out a small Rebel Pop-R and had a smash on his 3rd or 4th cast. This place had a ton of grass in it and they started mowing the yard, so it got to where I would throw it for them and they would reel it in. Then they got bored when it slowed down, so I told them I would cast and hand it over. We caught 2 on a Berkley Beatle spin and 3 on a Sluggo. I spotted 2 fish I would guess around #5, but they spotted me and spooked pretty quick. I wish I could have tied them in to one of those, but oh well, due time. I took this picture and it reminded me of a mini Jimmy Houston (Tanner's haircut) and Roland Martin (Barrel chest). Look at that arm extention, learning already.
