Not always true, sometimes bass want fast lures in cold water.
Personally I think gettin a bass on patterns is hardest thign to do. I can figure them out yes, but it will take me 2-3 days to actually fully develop or at least get enogh info to rule out what lures are needed, what arnt etc etc. It comes wiht experience.
