I won the nascar pool at work and got a big ol envelope of 10's and 20's, so of course the bait monkey bite and made me wonder how my Rapala stock was in the ol tackle box, and I ended up deciding to scout out
some glass raps, that I had seen on tv for walleye and then later for bass.. I didn't find any of the #7 size that I wanted, but did get 3 perch shad raps and a few cotton Cordell's in perch, then my eyes spotted a lure color I had been looking for years..it turned out to be the Glassrap#4..heres a pic ![]() Heres a chart to view other colors Its the crank bait on the far right.. ![]() What I can't believe about this lure is the size, a number 4 (who knew?) Its almost a identical replica of shad I ve seen almost every lake and river up here, put the unique quality is that from the top angler looking in you see a flash of chartreuse, (I was looking for rapala's in white and chartrue to replace the mangled ones I have already) and from the side view you get a nice flash of purple and then the shad white, its a mirror image of what you see in the river...plus at a small size that "match's the hatch" when the time is right.. Once I got it out of the box at home and kept looking at the reflections, I got to thinking " how many times have you got to some body of water to prefish a tourney, and see that all the minnows running the bank are way smaller than almost all your crank baits.. well, this glassrap#4 fits the bill, maybe 1 1/2 inch long and so sweet! |
